One Community Meal

If you only have one meal a day, where would you take it? Community staff and volunteers come together to provide a certain number of meals to the community – Monday to Friday around noon. We source our ingredients from health food donors, our garden next door and harvest programs in Los Angeles County. We invest in the right equipment and appliances so cooking can be fun. Our daily menu varies, as God provides. Take your meal here and know that whoever you are and wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here. Soifua.

Food Distribution Network

Second Samoa has been distributing food since 1997 and we serve a network of a thousand difficult to reach families in the Greater Long Beach area. What we know: food takes about four hours to travel from the local grocery store to the kitchen table; through an intermediary, food can take up to 24 hours to reach the same table. Via major food banks, food can take up to 7 days and in layered systems, the time it takes for food to travel from source to the end user often exceeds their expiration date. Our mission: harvested food on demand, to families in the network, before they expire. We could use your help. Faafetai.
